Former TV reporter, Portland commissioner dies (The Columbian)

Dick Bogle, Oregon’s first black TV journalist, former Portland City Commissioner and Vancouver resident, died Thursday morning of congestive heart failure. Family members told KATU-TV that Bogle had been in and out of hospitals and nursing facilities since October but appeared to be recovering.

Fire officials say treecutter critically injured in fall at Vancouver home

Dawn Johnson, a spokeswoman for Clark County Fire District 6, said the man fell about 20 feet with the tree and landed on top of it.
